SISTERS' REFLECTIONS

In Solidarity

by Sister Carol Karnitsky, sscm

As a girl of 11, I was dismayed when I heard of the death of 14-year-old Emmitt Till. Why would anyone want to kill a kid? I thought. Emmitt has never left my heart. Racism is the original sin of our country. In a recent publication I saw a list of all the men and women who have died because of racial violence since 2014. In my helplessness, I want to know these persons better. I did a bit of research and share it now with you. ~Sister Carol Karnitsky, sscm.
